  Raised in a family of artists, Duncan was exposed to the varied disciplines of illustration and the fine arts from an early age. Making the language of image his own, he graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2009 with a BFA from the Department of Communication Arts, and attended the Illustration Academy that summer. 

Duncan continues to explore the isolated train tracks, dramatic waters, and lively ever-evolving streets of Richmond Virginia, responding to and interpreting the world and culture around him visually as a freelance illustrator. He marries his passion for draftsmanship with expression, printmaking with graphic and digital, as well as his love of tradition and history with his optimism of the modern. He actively peruses opportunities to partner with others to tell diverse stories both new and old through the visual with whimsy and impact.
